6 May 1997 RI-849i 'Definition of "Security Risk"' from Ambassador for Mankind Message # RI-849i for Internet A Security Risk, simply defined, is someone who can be expected - because of past known behavior or by other known or suspected behavior - to give in to evil (non-survival) pressure exerted on him. We can get a better understanding of this. It depends on the amount of counter-pressure that can be foreseen as possibly being exerted against someone, whether one would consider someone to be a Security Risk. It is important to know - in order to maintain security - what amount or what kind of non-survival pressure or temptation someone is willing or even likes to give in to. There is a big factor of "stupidity" - which in this case is the unwillingness to face and detect non-survival intentions of others, as well as one's own non-survival intentions. It is also a lack of education in and lack of familiarity with the methods and means that ill-intentioned people employ to bring about destruction. (see the 'Understanding Suppression Series' at http://Art-Org.com/ri-bulletins/usp.htm) A typical example is 'security of data'. There would not be much need for security of data, security of valuable documents, etc. etc., if there were no people who have destructive intentions and would try to use those data to destroy others. (Which, by the way, is ENTIRELY different from hindering someone from being evil, as that is NOT destroying a person, but very much aiding a person's survival and well-being.) Most often people with destructive intentions and plans succeed because 'Security Risks' (meaning people, in this case) neither consider the possibility of destructive plans and intentions and the way in which these plots are carried out, nor do they actually face, see, perceive, observe, and look through hidden destructive intentions of those who would or do execute destructive plans. (As a general rule of detection: In a rather sane, constructive environment, destructive intentions are always hidden, and one can mostly be sure when one sees an intention forcefully hidden, that it is a destructive intention. In such an environment, survival intentions do not have to be hidden or camouflaged, destructive intentions must be.) What one can generally examine is: - To what extent is someone calmly or rationally facing opposing, non-survival, (especially hidden or camouflaged) evil intentions or the possible occurrence of such. - To what extent is the person giving in to non-survival or destructive pressure exerted on him. - To what extent does someone LIKE to NOT FACE (and even "enjoy" invitations to) non-survival or destructive intentions. In order to be very practical: There is a certain level of destructive pressure, which, when exerted on someone, usually causes him 'to turn around and walk over to the destructive camp', if only temporarily. When someone does so desert you and goes into treason, this is justified by him (or her) with all kinds of 'acceptable' reasons: Stupidity - "I didn't know I was harming you by joining the other side", "I could not inform your beforehand". Short-sighted self-"preservation" - "I have to care for my family", "I have to care for my own future", "I do not want to be punished or suffer disadvantages" (it does not preserve oneself, nor one's family, nor one's future, to support the enemy-camp that destroys survival, except in the rare case that one pretends to support it, but in fact is a covert agent). Outright lies - "I stopped liking you", "You are harming my self-determinism", "I WANTED to desert you", "You can't be understood anymore", "You are a loser - I am now on the winning side", "People here appreciate and support me more than you do". To what extent a person can be expected to stand up to non-survival pressure exerted on him, and to what extent he is himself inclined to "enjoy" following non-survival purposes, and to what extent he himself as a direct source generates non-survival purposes, determines to what extent he is a 'Security Risk' - as modified by the circumstances and environment he is expected to encounter and operate in.
